Relief Isles Operative 1, Westray

Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£12.73 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate

We are looking for Isles Operatives on a number of our Isles, to assist the Team Leader Operations in the delivery of safe, compliant, effective and efficient Planned, Cyclical, Reactive and Emergency works undertaken by the Roads and Environmental Services workforce.

You will assist in the delivery of a range of activities relating to the maintenance of the islands roads including pot hole repairs, drainage, verge works, signing, lining etc. You will also assist with the delivery of gritting and, where required, reactive repairs associated with flooding and storm damage.

You should hold a full current Driving Licence to drive a vehicle, towing a trailer of up to a combined weight Minimum level (Class C1+E 8.25T GVW)

Interested parties for each position must be resident on the isle to which their applications relate.
