Relief Mobile Community Responder (Green Team)

£17.09 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

You will be reporting to the Responder Service Coordinator.

This is a relief position, for inclusion on a list of people available for offers of work as and when required.

The purpose of this role is to work as part of a team to provide a Community Care Alarm Responder service to individuals living in the communities of Orkney. Assisting individuals to remain at home as independently as possible and deliver services, in line with the principles of the Health and Social Care Standards.

Within the Responder service there are two different teams, the Red Team and the Green Team. The Red Team work three shifts including nights and the Green team work two shifts with no nightshift but a midnight finish time. The main difference between them is that the Green Team also helps to provide short-term support to individuals following discharge from hospital and delivery of support to prevent hospital admissions.

You will have the ability to treat people with dignity, respect and compassion and ensure people are included in and supported to make decisions for themselves.

You will have good written and verbal communication skills and show a basic understanding of health and safety for yourself and others including risk assessment.

This post is a regulated role with adults and requires Level 2 Disclosure with PVG scheme membership.
