Relief Vocational Instructor (First Aid/Health)

Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£17.84 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Orkney College UHI is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons in the area of first aid. Hours are offered on an as and when required basis.

The post will involve delivery of one, two and three day first aid courses within the College’s short course programme, and hours will vary dependent on demand for these.

Applicants must hold an HNC/SVQ3, or an equivalent SCQF level 6 qualification, in a relevant subject area and have experience of instructing others. An L+D9D1 assessor award and L+D11 verifier award, or equivalent, are also essential and, where not held, should be achieved within 12 months.

Recent experience of working in relevant settings is essential, and current or previously held Nursing & Midwifery Council registration would be beneficial.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

Applicants must be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
