We are recruiting for a caring, compassionate person to work at Braeburn Court. You'll take pride in supporting older people to live with dignity, comfort, and independence, and enjoy being part of a positive, motivated team.

As a Social Care Assistant, you’ll provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to older people in their own homes, in a friendly and respectful environment. You’ll help with everyday tasks and activities that make life meaningful; from personal care and companionship to supporting wellbeing and social inclusion.

Based in Braeburn Court, you’ll work closely with colleagues and senior staff, taking initiative, sharing ideas, and contributing to a supportive team culture where everyone’s input is valued. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and ready to develop their skills and confidence in care.

You should hold an SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or other relevant qualifications to enable registration with SSSC or achieve this within 3 years of appointment. You must also register with SSSC as a Support Worker within 3 months of appointment.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to a Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working in a regulated role with protected adults.
