Social Care Assistant

17.5 Hours Per Week

Permanent

£28,006 - £28,572 pro rata / £15.35 - £15.66 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring person to undertake social care duties at the Gilbertson Day Centre. The Gilbertson Day Centre is in Kirkwall and provides day care to the frail, elderly and those with dementia. You will observe the principles of confidentiality in all aspects of practice and attend to the general care and well-being of service users; including assisting with their personal care in keeping with the standards of care required by the Care Commission.

You should hold an SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or other relevant qualification or be able to achieve this within 5 years.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
