Social Care Assistant (Nights)

18.5 hours per week, shift working over seven days
Permanent
£39,765 - £40,586 pro rata / £20.61 - £ 21.04 per hour (including shift allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)

This post is only available to current Orkney Islands Council employees

You will be required to carry out tasks and duties delegated by senior staff in an effective and efficient manner ensuring at all times the social and domestic care needs of service users. You will observe the principles of confidentiality in all aspects of practice and ensure the safety and comfort of service users, attending to their general care and well being; including assisting with personal care in keeping with the standards of care required by the Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (SCWIS).

Relevant experience in a similar post would be an advantage.

You should hold a minimum of SVQ Level 2 in Care to enable registration with the SSSC or be able to achieve this within 3 years. You must also register as a Support Worker with the SSSC within three months of appointment.

This post is subject to a Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG for working with adults.
