You will be reporting to the Registered Manager.
Your working pattern is 24 hours per week on a 7 day flexible rotation, we are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.
The purpose of this role is to support individuals living independently in their own homes within a Core and Cluster setting in Kirkwall.
You will promote choice, dignity and wellbeing, and support individuals to develop and maintain independence in daily living tasks. The role also involves assisting people to access community activities such as music events, cinema trips and other social opportunities. The post holders will contribute to the delivery of high‑quality, responsive care that supports wellbeing and independent living. You will also play an active role in support planning and risk assessment, working closely with the Senior Social Care Worker and the wider team.
The necessary qualification, experience and skills required for this role are to hold, or achieve within 3 years of appointment, an SVQ 2 (SCQF Level 6) in Health and Social care, or other equivalent level qualification accepted by SSSC for registration.
Applicants must also achieve registration with SSSC as a Support Worker in a Care Home Service for Adults / Housing Support and Care at Home Service within 3 months.
