1 x 28 hours per week, Term Time
1 x 19 hours per week, Term Time

Temporary up to 31 March 2025
£26,666 - £27,232 / £27,853 - £28,455 pro rata
£14.61 - £14.92 / £15.26 - £15.59 per hour
The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance

Suitable candidates are sought for the above vacancies for Support for Learning Assistants to work in Kirkwall Grammar school. As a member of the school team you will be expected to work with pupils, colleagues and parents.

We require candidates to have experience in working with young people and to be committed to supporting, encouraging and including all children in achieving their potential.

To be appointed at grade D:
You should have a good general standard education including evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy and achieve a SCQF level 5 qualification - e.g. SVQ2, NC or PDA in relevant subject area within 3 years of appointment.

To be appointed at/progression to grade E:
You should have a good general standard education including evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy AND a SCQF level 5 qualification - e.g. SVQ2, NC or PDA in relevant subject area.

These posts are subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
