£31,776 - £34,331 pro rata / £17.41 - £18.81 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
UHI Orkney is seeking applications from a suitably qualified and experienced person to add to its Agriculture team. This part-time post requires an ability to work independently, be self-motivated and have good communication skills.
Applicants must be educated to HNC/SVQ 3 or equivalent level in a relevant area and hold an Assessor Award, or be willing to work towards this. Applicants must have current industry experience and knowledge of the occupational working area at, or above the assessed level (SCQF5 & 6). This experience and knowledge must be of sufficient depth to be effective and reliable when judging a candidate’s competence.
Knowledge of the SVQ qualification and Modern Apprenticeships in Agriculture is essential. The role will involve visiting candidates in their place of work within Orkney and Caithness to undertake workplace assessment, maintain accurate records and liaise with employers.
This post is subject to membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney and Caithness to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
