We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Biology Teacher. You will ideally have experience teaching all aspects of the subject across all stages.

Kirkwall Grammar School moved into a new building in 2014. Our classrooms are well equipped and resourced to support teachers in the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning. The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities including drama, music, sports, games and film. Staff work hard to find opportunities to enrich the experience students have here and this has included outdoor adventure trips and trips to Europe to visit battlefields and to learn to ski.

The school enjoys strong links with the community. This is seen in connections with local business that provide opportunities for our young people. This is also seen in the excellent Sports and Arts facilities that enrich the learning experience through the day as well as being used by community groups at other times.

Orkney is a place of significant natural beauty, with a rich heritage. The old and the new collide where World Heritage Archaeological Sites look over sector leading renewables research facilities. This, along with a rich and diverse flora and fauna, provides interesting and relevant contexts for pupils to engage in the learning process.

The successful candidate will be committed to improvement and excellence and will be joining teams of staff who are dedicated to providing the best for all young people.
