Teacher of Physics/General Science
35 hours per week (1.0 FTE)
Permanent (starting 21 August 2023)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher who is committed to improvement and excellence. You will be joining departments and other teams of staff who are dedicated to providing the best for all young people.
You will be able to teach Physics to senior phase pupils and prepare them for exams. You will also be enthusiastic and knowledgeable in your delivery of Science to junior phase pupils, where interdisciplinary learning is encouraged. You will be joining a highly successful team and well-resourced school. The school is housed in a new 21st century building that has theatre and sports facilities that are used to enhance the learning experience of our pupils.
The school enjoys good relations with local businesses and industry with many senior pupils taking advantage of the opportunity to participate in work experience programmes. Orkney is sector leading in Renewable energy generation and opportunities for collaboration exist in this area. A wide range of extra-curricular activities including drama, music and sport are available to pupils.

Salary will be based on the Main Grade Scale of the SNCT Salary Tables plus a Distant Islands Allowance. We offer a generous relocation package.
