Orkney Islands Council is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Trainee Internal Auditor.
You will gain practical experience of audit techniques, processes and procedures and develop a skill set based on theory and practice to enable career progression. You will work towards passing Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA) professional examinations with progression through a career graded post over a 4-year period.
You will support the performance of the Internal Audit Team through a culture of teamwork and flexibility, contributing to the overall success of the team and the Council.
Crucial to the role will be your excellent written and oral communication skills and your ability to present complex issues in a way that is easily understandable. Being self-motivated and able to work under pressure, and your time management skills will be of significant benefit in this role.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
You must be educated to Degree level in any discipline and should have good ICT skills.
