You will be reporting to Inga Burton, Service Manager Sustainable Regeneration and Arctic.

Your working pattern is 14 hours per week between Monday to Sunday on a rota basis

The purpose of this role is supervision of Visitor Services Assistants, building care, ensuring the security and safety of collections and dealing with the visitors to the museums.

This is an important role where you will help care for our buildings, support our visitors and supervise our Visitor Services Assistants.

You will be responsible for the security and safety of our museum sites. You will look after displays and objects and make sure the environment is clean, safe and welcoming. You will also support shop sales and manage stock.

A big part of the role is engaging with the public, answering questions, dealing with enquiries and ensuring visitors have a positive experience. The role also involves completing paperwork and computer-based records.

You'll supervise staff and volunteers, helping to plan shifts, holidays and daily tasks. You will also handle cash and work within an agreed budget. The role involves working both indoors and outdoors and may require travel between sites.
