The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance.
You will be reporting to the Port Safety Manager.
Your working pattern is Monday – Friday. We are happy to talk flexible working, where possible.
The purpose of this role is to assist the Counter Pollution and Waste Management Officer with waste management and collection, maintaining and operating counter pollution equipment.
The post holder will be required to assist with the collection and removal of all waste (including oils) from vessels within Orkney Harbour Areas including the completion of associated paperwork. Operate forklift, Telehandler and truck/Hiab loading. Assist in any clean-up operation in the event of an oil spill or pollution incident to which the Service may be called upon to deal with. Assist with the maintenance and testing of oil pollution equipment within the Orkney Harbour Areas. Report all incidents in accordance with the Harbour Authority’s Safety Management System as required. Deputise as required for the Counter Pollution & Waste Management Officer in their absence
