An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Income Maximisation Team.  We are looking for an energetic, driven, and innovative individual for the role of Assistant Application Support Officer.  

You will be mainly responsible for assisting in the day to day running of the Housing Rent and Arrears system.  This involves running reports, processing Direct Debits, financial reconciliation, participation in returns for Scottish Housing Charter outcomes, testing upgrades to system, dealing with staff enquiries and processing refunds and amendments in NEC. 

You will also work in collaboration, building excellent working relationships with colleagues from across Housing, from other internal PKC teams and colleagues who are external to the organisation.

You will be accountable for closely monitoring rent accounts, ensuring that these are well-managed, and reporting is complete within set targets.  

You will report to the Application Support Officer for Income Maximisation Team.  

The standard hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday from 8.45 to 5pm but due to the level and the nature of the post, there will be an expectation that you will work flexibly, and this could include evenings and weekends especially for Year End processing.

Skills & Experience Required

You should have a good understanding of financial matters, with additional statistical processing skills.

As this role will have its challenges, it is crucial that you will be resilient to deal with these and hurdles you may encounter, and that you have strength of character and are solution-focused to achieve the intended outcomes. You must be able to prioritise you own workload.

You should have a good basic knowledge of Housing Legislation and professional best practice.

You should have a thirst for keeping your own learning up to date and be open to ongoing personal development.

You should have a good sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and ensure that this is factored into your own working practices and any dealings with customers.

You must have experience of working in Housing and in particular rent and rent arrears.

You should have a good working knowledge of the benefit system and be qualified to SVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent level in a relevant discipline.

You will be computer literate with proven IT skills.

You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.  The successful candidate can be expected to travel to our locality offices and/or visit tenants.

You will bring a positive energy; embrace change and work with the business to ensure optimum service is always provided.
