Perth & Kinross Council’s Building Standards team is known for its high performing, customer focused service.  We have a culture of continuous improvement to achieve the Council’s priority of developing a resilient, stronger, and greener local economy.

This is an excellent opportunity for a range of candidates, either starting a building standards career through to those with professional qualifications and considerable building standards experience.

The individual appointed will strive to achieve our corporate objectives including contributing to achieving targeted key performance outcomes.

The right candidate will demonstrate customer focus in delivery of the Council’s statutory Building Standards function.  The role primarily involves the assessment of building warrant applications, and the inspection of on-going construction works.  Other duties include dealing with defective/dangerous buildings and temporary raised structures (e.g. event stages), etc.

Depending on experience you will have the ability to work on your own initiative and efficiently manage your workload, as well as working well as part of the team and with wider stakeholders.

You will have good communication skills and be committed to a high standard of customer service.

The ability to use IT systems, such as Uniform and Enterprise is desirable.
