An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Primary Teacher to join our school’s Primary team.

This a part-time, temporary post, to start from August 2026 until August 2027.

Our Primary School will have 17 classes for 2026-27 session.

The role will be to provide RCCT cover across the full range of primary classes from P1 to P7.

The working pattern for this 0.44 FTE will ideally include two full days, on Mondays and Tuesdays but there may be some flexibility around how the remaining 0.04 FTE is worked.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality learning and teaching in line with Curriculum for Excellence.
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment which supports wellbeing and achievement for all learners.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and external partners to support children’s learning and wellbeing.
  • Engage actively in school improvement priorities and professional learning.

It anticipated that interviews will be held during week commencing 22 June.

About the School

The Community School of Auchterarder is an all-through school, comprising Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments serving the community of Auchterarder and surrounding district.

We have a roll of approximately 1,100 children and young people across all three sectors.

The school is situated in a rural location, approximately 14 miles south of Perth with good road networks to the rest of Perthshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the central belt. Our Associated Primary Schools are Aberuthven, Blackford and Dunning.

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative teacher who is committed to raising standards, promotes high quality learning and teaching and has a strong commitment to meeting the individual needs of our children.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who can demonstrate experience in teaching across the Primary age range.

GTCS registration is required.
