Wellbeing Support Team, Pullar House, Perth
Perth and Kinross Council’s Wellbeing Support Team provides early intervention and relapse prevention services to empower individuals to recover from, or live better with, the symptoms of mental ill health through the provision of information, support, self-management programmes, community connections and peer support.
We are recruiting for a Community Care/Mental Health Assistant to join our team.
You will contribute to assessment, risk assessment, personal outcome recovery care planning and review.
You will be directly involved in the delivery of support to adults with moderate mental health needs living in rural towns and villages in Perth and Kinross.
You will plan, organise and manage the delivery of support in line with policy, procedure and best practice.
The support offered will be delivered over a six month period and recovery focussed and will encourage the development of self-management skills to support service users to move on from, or live better with, the symptoms of mental ill health.
This post will be based in Perth, with the post holder working across both south and north areas of rural Perthshire.

Skills & Experience Required
The Community Care/Mental Health Assistant role within the Wellbeing Support Team requires qualification to SVQ3/HNC in Health and Social Care level (Or willing to work towards), and some previous experience in mental health support work.
You will demonstrate good written, IT and verbal communication skills, the ability to undertake assessment of mental wellbeing and demonstrate succinct good care planning and review processes.
You must have a genuine interest in working with people in a Recovery focussed way to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
You will have previous experience of working with people with mental health needs.
You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross and to be able to utilise PKC pool vehicles.
