An exciting opportunity to work as a member of the Early Years Inclusion Team [EYIT] to support children with additional support needs, within Early Learning & Childcare (ELC) settings across the Perth & Kinross Council (PKC) area.

The post holder will work with settings to ensure that children have access to a range of play experiences that meet their individual needs and will involve direct input working with children as well as support and advice to staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, deliver and record support to children with identified additional support needs in local authority and funded provider settings.
  • Work jointly with other professionals to meet children's needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the EYIT to support children with ASN's.
  • Develop resources as part of EYIT.

It is anticipated that interviews will take place on Thursday 6 November 2025. 

Skills & Experience Required

As this post is peripatetic, you will require to be able to travel between settings across Perth and Kinross.

You should hold an appropriate qualification e.g. SNNEB, NNEB, HNC, SCQF level 7 equivalent or SVQ 3 in Childcare and Education or SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People), as well as have the eligibility to register with SSSC.

We are looking for a person who:

  • Enjoys working with children who have individual needs.
  • Enjoys being creative and can problem solve to make learning fun.
  • Has a range of ELC and/or Early Years experience.
  • A good understanding of Additional Support Needs.
  • Can work well in a team.
  • Can communicate with a range of professionals.
  • Has the ability to use own initiative and take direction.
  • Has a willingness to undertake professional development.
