Coupar Angus School is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced Pupil Support Assistants to join our nurturing and inclusive team.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are neurodiverse or have complex additional support needs.

Initially, the successful candidate will support an individual pupil based at Kettins Community Hub. 

As the young person transitions, the role will move into our Coupar Angus Intensive Support Provision, located within the school. 

This provision offers highly personalised learning pathways designed to help children and young people thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Provide high‑quality, compassionate support to children and young people with complex additional support needs.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning experiences that build skills for life, work, and learning.
  • Initially support one individual learner, with the intention of progressing to working with small groups within the Intensive Support Provision.
  • Support pupils across a variety of contexts—classroom, outdoor learning, daily living skills—helping each child to be the best they can be.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment where every young person feels valued.

Location

Starting Location: Kettins Community Hub.
Ongoing Role: Coupar Angus Intensive Support Provision (within Coupar Angus Primary School).

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for an individual who will bring:

  • Experience supporting children and young people with complex additional support needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Resilience, patience, and a caring, child‑centred approach.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals.
  • The ability to use your initiative, work flexibly, and adapt quickly to pupils’ needs.
  • A genuine passion for inclusion and helping young people reach their full potential.
