Kinross High School

Kinross High School is looking for a caring and hard‑working Enhanced Pupil Support Assistant (EPSA) to join our Intensive Support Provision (ISP). This new provision provides a safe, welcoming space for young people with a wide range of complex needs.   

In the ISP, each group has 1 teacher and 1 Enhanced PSA for every 8 pupils. This helps us build strong relationships and give each young person the support they need. As part of this job, you will also help pupils take part in lessons and activities in the wider school. 

Day to day, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting young people with a wide range of complex needs.
• Working with the class teacher to provide calm, well‑planned and supportive learning.
• Helping pupils take part in lessons and activities in the main school.
• Using positive behaviour and wellbeing strategies to support pupils.
• Working well with teachers, support staff, therapists and families.
• Helping keep the classroom safe, inclusive and respectful at all times. 

Our provision opened in August 2025 and we are delighted that this will grow to two classes from August 2026.  

Housed within Loch Leven Community Campus, Kinross High School is a modern building designed to be bright, open and easy to move around. It is simple to travel to from many places across central Scotland, with good transport links and parking on site.

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for someone who is nurturing, patient and inclusive.

You should care deeply about young people and want to help them feel safe, respected and able to learn. 

You should have experience working with children or young people who have a variety of complex needs.  This may include communication differences, sensory needs, learning disabilities, physical needs or emotional challenges.

You should also be willing to learn new ways of supporting pupils, such as using visual aids, routines and calming techniques. 

You will need to be flexible, calm and able to adapt, as every day in the ISP is different.

Good teamwork and communication are very important. Most of all, you should believe that every young person can achieve and should feel a sense of belonging in their school.
