As Head Teacher you will have responsibility for the development and delivery of high quality learning and teaching which meets the needs of all pupils. You will also be expected to lead quality assurance measures to plan, develop and monitor the continuous improvement of the school and implement local and national objectives.

The Head Teachers Education and Training (Scotland) Regulations 2019 require candidates who are appointed to their first permanent Head Teacher post from 1 August 2020 to have attained the Standard for Headship.  If you have not gained this qualification, appointment can only be made on a fixed term basis for a period not exceeding 30 months. Perth & Kinross Council are committed to supporting candidates gain this qualification.

Should you be invited to attend interview, you will be asked to provide 2 references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.  Therefore, when completing your application for this post, please ensure you provide contact details for two referees.   If you are already employed as a teacher with Perth & Kinross Council, you are only required to provide 1 reference, which must be from your current Head Teacher.

As Perth & Kinross Council operates an open reference policy, the onus will be on you to provide us with your references.
