Pullar House, Perth
As part of the Corporate Health & Safety, you will be required to provide health and safety advice, support and assistance to managers and employees of Perth & Kinross Council in order to assist in securing compliance with the Councils Health and Safety responsibilities.
This is a hybrid role, with your base being Pullar House in Perth, with occasional travel being required within the Operational Services sites throughout Perth & Kinross.
You will contribute to the continual improvement of Health & Safety policy, arrangements and performance across a variety of services within the Council.
Your role is to support a range of employees throughout the organisation in meeting their statutory obligations pertaining to health and safety management. You will be required to provide support and advice to a range of areas and disciplines at both an operational and managerial level.
You will support management with regards to health and safety committees and localised health and safety meetings.

The Individual
To be considered for the post you must hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, be at least a Graduate Member of IOSH or equivalent.
You must have experience of providing professional Health and Safety advice to managers and employees and are conversant with the main pieces of Health and Safety legislation (faced across local government activities), utilising good communication and inter-personal skills.
You must have the ability to establish and sustain positive relationships with colleagues, within the service and across Council Services, employees, and key stakeholders.
You must have effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information in an easily understood manner in addition to using formal presentation skills and be effective at presenting health and safety training (holding a training qualification or at least two years substantial face to face, training delivery experience).
You will have the ability to manage your own workload and work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimum levels of supervision, produce clear management reports, meet any agreed KPI’s, asked of you and be solution focussed in your approach.
You will have well-developed ICT skills, in particular knowledge of databases and Microsoft Office packages. Having knowledge and experience of digital health and safety management systems is desirable.
You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
