Housing Officer - PKC11870

Blairgowrie Area Office

This is a busy, challenging and varied role providing comprehensive housing management services to tenants and residents in the base locality and on occasion across other localities within Perth and Kinross.

You will be expected to support tenants to ensure they are comfortable and secure in their homes and provide advice and guidance to help tenants sustain their tenancies and contribute to attractive, safe and sustainable neighbourhoods.  

The role involves estate and tenancy management including neighbourhood, anti-social behaviour and environmental complaints, rent and arrears management, housing advice and information.

For purposes of connection and collaboration with colleagues and with the community we serve, our full-time employees work on site for a minimum of 2 days per week with the arrangements for part time employees being agreed on a basis which will ensure that they benefit to an equivalent degree.

Requirements

You must have CIH Level 3 or 4 Certificate/Diploma in Housing Practice - or the equivalent - or be willing to work towards this.

You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.

You will / will be:

 - Organised and structured in your approach to the role and able not only to prioritise but react quickly to changing situations within appropriate timescales.

 - Able to place a high focus on customer care and be committed to delivering a high quality service.

 - Able to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and other services seeking the best possible outcome or solution.

 - Take responsibility for personal health and safety and that of others.

 - Adapt your approach in accordance with the needs of customers and colleagues in a non-judgemental and respectful manner.

 - Able to work flexibly to meet service demands - if required across all localities in Perth and Kinross.

 - Have a positive approach to working independently or within an often large team environment.

 - Have excellent IT skills and be competent and comfortable using all Microsoft Office packages but specifically Word, Outlook and Excel as well.

 - A quick learner in relation to IT systems, processes, procedures and legislation applicable to the role.
