IT Engineer, Network & Telephony – PKC13881

Carpenter House, Perth

We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer with strong networking expertise to join our Network & Telephony team, supporting the critical voice and data infrastructure used across Perth & Kinross Council.

This is a hands‑on technical role supporting enterprise‑scale networks across a large, multi‑site estate, including corporate and education environments.

 You will:

  • Support and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless and telephony services
  • Troubleshoot and optimise switching, routing and WiFi infrastructure
  • Contribute to WAN / SD‑WAN upgrades, wireless refresh programmes and telephony modernisation
  • Monitor network performance, respond to incidents and carry out root cause analysis
  • Support developments in cloud connectivity, secure remote access and SD-WAN

Skills & Experience Required

You will bring:

  • Proven, hands‑on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure
  • Strong practical knowledge of IP networking, routing, switching and network security
  • Experience working in multi‑site or large‑scale environments
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach

HND or higher in a relevant field, or significant hands‑on IT engineering experience.

Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Cisco or equivalent vendor certifications) or demonstrable experience is desirable.

A UK driving licence is desirable.
