Job Description

Payment Support Assistant (Fixed Term until 31 March 2025) - PKC12021
£23,838 - £25,189

Education & Children’s Services (ECS) Finance Support Team are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join them, who is focussed on providing excellent customer service, embraces change, and constantly strives to improve the service provided.
 
The role includes:

  • Utilising various IT systems undertaking duties relating to procurement and payment to third parties/suppliers in accordance with ECS Finance Policies and Procedures and other relevant guidance.
  • There is also a requirement to ensure all payments are processed timeously to achieve performance indicators. 
  • Assisting internal/external customers with queries as required.
  • Assisting in the distribution of incoming and outgoing mail. 
  • Undertaking other duties other than those above depending on the requirements of the Service but within the level of responsibility outlined in the job family profile.

For purposes of connection and collaboration with colleagues and with the community we serve, our full-time employees work on site for a minimum of 2 days per week with the arrangements for part time employees being agreed on a basis which will ensure that they benefit to an equivalent degree.

Our team are currently Hybrid Working with Tuesday and Wednesday in the office. 

The Individual

PC skills and a working knowledge MS Office products, in particular Excel, are essential to the role . You will make use of some advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, macros, subtotal, lookups).
 
You must also possess effective interpersonal and excellent communication skills, together with the ability to meet tight deadlines and be a team player.
 
You will be a focal point for a number of internal customers with your knowledge relating to their payments as well as ensuring that they comply with relevant ECS finance policy and procedures.

You will maintain a flexible approach within the team with the ability to react to changing priorities quickly.

This post is subject to employer pension contributions of 17% if the post holder joins the Local Government Pension Scheme.
