An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Play Assistant to join the friendly and ambitious team at Robert Douglas Memorial School.
As a Play Assistant you will assist in the planning and provision of high-quality learning helping to provide excellent care and a comprehensive range of appropriate, stimulating and creative learning activities for children in P1.
This role is a term-time role.
No entry qualifications are required, however you will be required and supported to work towards one of the qualifications below:
- NC / HNC Early Education and Childcare.
- SVQ Level 2 or / 3 in Social Services (Children & Young People).
It is essential that you gain registration as a support worker with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for Day Care of Children within 3 months of commencing employment and are responsible for maintaining annual membership.
The Individual
We are looking for an individual who has a genuine interest in, and commitment to, working with children in a professional capacity within an early learning and childcare environment.
The role is child-focussed which requires sensitivity, patience and compassion along with a welcoming approach aimed at generating a feeling of trust and safety for children and their parents/carers.
