An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and driven individual to lead and manage a team of teaching staff within the Faculty of Science.

The post is a fixed term contract until 17 May 2026, commencing in October 2024, to cover a secondment of the current postholder.

The Faculty Leader will support the strategic direction in whole school leadership and management, with a specific responsibility to support and contribute to whole school improvement.

The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of 5 Teachers within the Faculty of Science.

It is anticipated that interviews for this post will be held on Thursday 12 September 2024.

About the School

The Community School of Auchterarder is an all-through school, comprising Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments serving the community of Auchterarder and surrounding district.

We have a roll of approximately 1,100 children and young people across all three sectors. The nursery setting is an 80-place setting, working on an extended years 45-week model.

The school is situated in a rural location, approximately 14 miles south of Perth with good road networks to the rest of Perthshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh and the central belt. Our Associated Primary Schools are Aberuthven, Blackford and Dunning.

The Individual

You must be able to demonstrate leadership, good management & support the strategic direction of colleagues within the Faculty.

You will leading & manage curriculum development & quality assurance within the Faculty and whole school.

You must have GTCS Registration in a Science subject.  It is desirable for applicants to be dual qualified and therefore able to teach Biology and Chemistry.
