Braco Primary School are looking for a Pupil Support Assistant to join our team. 

The role of Pupil Support Assistant provides a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to join our highly skilled and supportive team, to meet the needs of all learners within our school.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, nurturing individual, who has a positive and solution focused attitude, to join our team.

The role is a varied one, but main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children with a range of additional support needs to access their mainstream curriculum.
  • Working alongside teaching staff to meet the needs of learners.
  • Partnership working with a range of partners including health, speech and language, occupational therapy and parents/ carers.
  • Playground supervision and other duties as required. 

Requirements

The successful candidate will have experience of working with young children and an interest in pursuing a career working in an educational environment.

You should also be calm, able to think on the spot, resilient, nurturing and patient.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate flexibility in approaches to support the staff team and our families.

You will be hard working, well organised, flexible, caring and committed to improving the life of the school and the people who work in it.

You will work well as part of a team and be able to take initiative and manage yourself, and your work, efficiently and effectively.

You will promote high standards and maintain positive partnerships.

You will understand the need for confidentiality and be able to work sensitively to support learners and their families.

You will have excellent communication skills and a positive approach to working with children.

We pride ourselves on the supports which we offer children, and the successful candidate should be willing to undergo training required to deliver specific interventions and approaches to meet learner needs.

A first aid qualification would be preferable but is not essential.
