Navigate, Perth
Navigate is an off-site supporting service for Secondary School Pupils offering support to young people with social, emotional and communication difficulties which is based in Perth City.
Working in partnership with secondary schools, Navigate provides an individual package of additional support and education for young people whilst the young person remains on the school roll.
We have a team of Teachers and Senior Social Care Officers who support the young people during their time at Navigate.
As a Teacher, you will be expected to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver learning opportunities with young people.
You will work on an individual and group work basis with young people, in Navigate or their school/community, in order to support them to reach their potential and ultimately transition back into school or to a positive post school destination.
Requirements
Essential : Degree in Primary or Secondary Education.
Desirable : Post graduate qualifications in working with young people with Additional Support Needs.
You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
The Individual
The successful candidate will:
- Have extensive experience in building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Have a background in working with secondary-aged young people.
- Be able to deliver a flexible, adaptive and inclusive education, taking into account the interests and aptitudes of young people.
- Have knowledge and experience of using a range of strategies in supporting young people, i.e. trauma informed and relationship based practice, self-regulation, restorative approaches.
- Be a reflective practitioner who can adapt their practice to meet the needs of our young people.
