Are you passionate about recovery from the harms of caused alcohol and drugs and helping people live their best lives?

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has been created by Perth and Kinross Alcohol and Drug Partnership for an experienced and dynamic individual to join the team in a new post as a Recovery Officer.

In this rewarding and varied role, you will lead the development and continued growth of our local recovery communities throughout Perth and Kinross.

Based in Pullar House, Perth but utilising a hybrid working style, you will work with our recovery communities to increase the involvement and influence of people with living and lived experience of substance use in the ongoing development of the Perth and Kinross Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC). You will lead the development of a group of recovery community volunteers, and you will develop and grow the range of recovery activities and groups available through Perth and Kinross.

You will also take a lead role in the collection, collation and analysis of experiential feedback for the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards, and work with services to engage our recovery communities in designing and implementing service improvements based on this feedback.

Skills & Experience Required

Given the nature of the role, we are looking for someone who has direct experience of problematic substance use and recovery and has a good knowledge of the communities in Perth and Kinross affected by these issues.

As a key member of the ADP Support Team, you will be working with a range of partners across the statutory, third sector and voluntary sectors. Therefore, having strong communication and partnership working skills will be crucial to the success of your role.
You should also be someone who:

Has experience of engaging people within the community to support change

Is proficient in key Microsoft Office applications including Teams and Outlook

Has a good working knowledge of recovery pathways

Has a good understanding and knowledge of national and local drug and alcohol policies, practice and priorities

Has good project management skills including analytical and report writing skills
