Supply / Sessional Senior Social Care Officers - PKC11690
£18.29 per hour
Wellbank House, Perth

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Wellbank House team who offer a safe supportive environment for young people aged 16-24 to enable positive transitions into adulthood and independent living.

Our young people face difficult challenges which require you to have understanding and commitment to working with vulnerable and complex young people with life challenges relating to homelessness, leaving care and those seeking asylum.

You should have direct experience in working with vulnerable or at risk young people, or, have transferable skills and knowledge about issues they may face and how you may help manage these within a team setting as well as working autonomously.  

An ability to assess, safety plan and to support young people toward individual development, confidence-building and empowerment is essential.

If you enjoy working with young people, have a good sense of humour, treat others with respect, empathy, are a good listener and have the ability to work in a professional context you could be perfect for the role

Requirements

Ideally you will have an SVQ3 and HNC in Social Care, or an SVQ4 in Social Care or other equivalent qualification as recognised by SSSC to meet full registration requirements for a Senior Social Care Officer.  

Alternatively, an HNC in Social Care (or equivalent) and willingness to complete an SVQ Level 3 within agreed timescales can be supported and funded on successful appointment, Induction and training period.

 

The Individual

You should be experienced in supporting children and young people in a residential setting or have clear understanding of the issues relating to working with young adults experiencing change.  

You should be able to evidence ability to communicate well with young people, professionals and to work independently as well as part of a team.

A knowledge of legislation in relation to child and adult protection, homelessness or care experienced young people is particularly desirable. 

You will be responsible to the Team Leader and Senior Practitioner for ensuring that work undertaken meets National Care Standards, SSSC registration requirements, Codes of Conduct and in line with Children, Young People's and Families Services.

You will work on a supply basis within a residential setting that provides a 24hr service 365 days per year.
