Main Purpose of the Role

Working within Perth & Kinross Council is more than a job, it's about being part of an organisation that puts people at the heart of all we do and provides opportunities to make a real difference by enhancing every life we touch.

We currently have the following opportunity:

Supply Unpaid Work Officers - PKC13630
£18.34 per hour
Westbank Project, 17 Jeanfield Road, Perth

The main purpose of the role is to supervise individuals subject to Unpaid Work (Community Payback Orders) while they do work for the benefit of the community across Perth and Kinross.

The work is mainly manual and includes Gardening, Landscaping, Fencing, Painting,
Constructing Garden Furniture, Demolition, Removals, Clearances etc.

This can be a rewarding job both for staff and those on orders who also get the opportunity to learn whilst they are working.

There are also opportunities to be trained on a variety of machinery and various plant related vehicles.

Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this post.

Skills & Experience Required

Reasonable fitness and previous experience of managing and supervising people would be an advantage, as would a Trades background.

Experience of managing and organising people in different situations would be an advantage. An example would be a foreman in charge of a group of workers who all have varying skills.

The role also requires understanding, logical thinking and common sense.

You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross and drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.  A standard UK driving licence (Category B) allows you to drive a vehicle that weighs up to 3.5 tonnes.
