We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with a broad skill set to join our excellent Technician team at Perth High School.  Whilst previous school experience is not essential, this fixed term post may suit someone already working in a school who would like to gain the experience to become a Technician in future.  

An exciting part of this role will be to help prepare for and develop our Technician service for the move to our state of the art new school.

Perth High School is a large comprehensive, drawing pupils from a mix of Perth City and rural Perthshire.  Working as a whole school Technician you will support the teaching staff and facilitate learning and teaching at all levels within the Science and Art departments. 

You will ensure that equipment and teaching areas are maintained, and adequate levels of materials and equipment are available for use by teachers and students.
You will also be expected to participate fully in the support provided by the department to the wider school community.

The Individual

This role is ideal for a capable and confident individual who is willing to take on a variety of tasks. 

The successful candidate will need to be well organised and have excellent time management skills. 

The successful candidate should also ideally possess:

•    Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
•    Excellent work ethic, self-motivated and proactive.
•    Supportive team member.
•    Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
•    Ability to work and remain calm under pressure and keep to tight deadlines.
•    Ability to work on your own and with others.
•    Post qualification experience in a science laboratory environment, preferably within the education system is desirable.
•    Good knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations.

Full training will be provided, but we require a positive attitude and a commitment to providing a first-class service to both pupils and colleagues.
