This post offers an exciting opportunity to support young people, and their families to improve their mental wellbeing and educational outcomes. Renfrewshire’s Family Wellbeing service offers a range of innovative supports to children, young people, and their families. Working as part of the school’s team within the Family Wellbeing service following the “Team around the child” framework in conjunction with the Senior Family Wellbeing Worker. Family Wellbeing workers offer integrated support based on the principals of Getting It Right for Every Child. Family Wellbeing service staff also support the delivery of evidence-informed interventions including Non-Violent Resistance, Sleep Scotland, and Seasons for Growth. This post would offer a challenge to suitably experienced staff who are committed to improving the wellbeing and educational outcomes of Renfrewshire’s young people, especially the most vulnerable.

 

You will benefit from a professional development via a wide range of training and development opportunities and regular supervision.

 

It is essential you have experience of working in a support role with children, young people and families in a school or community setting, A knowledge of issues facing young people and their families experiencing disadvantage and effective interpersonal and communication skills.

 

You must be genuinely committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and families, nonjudgmental, highly motivated, enthusiastic, positive, and resilient aswell as tactful and insightful.

While qualifications are not essential, it is desirable you possess a qualification SVQ level 3 or equivalent in a related discipline e.g., Social Care, Childcare and Education.

 

Experience of working with parents, including those experiencing stressful circumstances e.g., poverty, physical and mental health problems, experience of interagency liaison and Knowledge of curriculum for excellence and GIRFEC are also desirable.
