We are currently looking for a Local Partnerships Development Officer to join our Partnerships and Inequalities Team. This role will suit a strategic and solutions-focussed individual with excellent relationship building skills and a sound knowledge and genuine interest in locality working.

 

About the role

Located within the Chief Executive’s Service, the Development Officer will play a key role in leading, developing and coordinating Renfrewshire’s seven Local Partnerships. This includes providing strategic support to Local Partnership chairs and Lead Officers and building effective relationships with key community representatives and organisations across Renfrewshire.

The postholder will ensure the Local Partnerships operate effectively and will drive forward new Local Partnership Plans and associated grant arrangements. A key element of the role will be working to put Local Partnership Plans into delivery, working with partners at a senior level internally and externally to identify resource requirements and the ability to put Local Partnerships’ plans into action.

About you

We are looking for someone with proven experience of leading and co-ordinating initiatives, who loves working in partnership and is passionate about working with communities. 

It is essential that you have extensive experience in local government or similar diverse organisation, and experience of working in partnership with a range of statutory, voluntary and community organisations as well as elected members and senior officers. You will have significant experience of preparing written policy and/or research briefings and producing written briefings and reports for a range of audiences.

It is also essential you have effective organisational skills, the ability to analyse complex information, and effective communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. It is essential you have experience of co-ordinating and leading initiatives.

It is desirable that you have experience in community engagement and effective corporate and cross service collaboration. Knowledge of local and national policy context in relation to community and/or locality planning is also desirable, as is experience of supervising staff. Education to a degree standard or equivalent is also desirable.

 

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 2 Years or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
