We are seeking a Senior Data Development Officer to help us deliver digital services to staff and citizens.

Summary of Post

Join us and you’ll be working in a supportive environment where you’ll have the chance to make Renfrewshire a better place and contribute to its future. You’ll be part of our Architecture & Technology Team, who work within the ICT team as part of the Finance and Resources Service. Our service ambition is to ensure the smooth running of corporate Council operations by providing services across the organisation—including HR, Procurement, Legal, ICT and Audit & Governance. Your knowledge and skills in this area will help us continue to improve what we do and how we do it.

To embrace this varied and engaging role, we'll expect you to:

  • Support the implementation of the Council’s Data Strategy Framework, ensuring the Council’s Information systems, platforms, and data sets are fully exploited to meet current and future business objectives.
  • Lead on the identification and implementation of appropriate data platforms/technologies.
  • Work with Data Owners and the Council’s Data Advisory Group to ensure effective and secure data aggregation.
  • Provide wider architectural support and knowledge relating to Information Systems, Information and Data Management, ensuring technologies and processes are optimised while adhering to Council principles, standards, and Information Systems domain architecture.
  • Work within a dynamic and exciting team, with plenty of opportunity for growth and development.
  • Maintain an enthusiasm for learning, and the ability to impart your knowledge to others.
  • Be open to change and innovation.

As the ideal candidate you should:

  • Be educated to degree level and / or hold a relevant professional qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Have significant experience in data architectures, flows, aggregation, and manipulation.
  • Have experience with data platform/warehouse technologies alongside supporting scripting solutions.
  • Be able to translate business requirements using analysis methods and requirements gathering to inform specifications.
  • Have M365 experience, specifically Power Bi, SharePoint Online, M365 Power Platform and MS Teams.
  • Possess some knowledge and awareness of emerging AI technologies.
  • Have awareness of developments in IT industry including M365 technologies, AI, SaaS, PaaS and DaaS.
