Please note that the annual salary advertised is for a full-time role, based on 35.00/37.00 hours per week. If the position you are applying for is part time or you are only going to be working part of the year, i.e., a term time contract for 38 or 39 weeks per year, the annual salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis including a number of additional weeks for annual leave entitlement when the position is term time.

Recruitment Profile

To work closely and co-operatively with teaching staff to support the needs of pupils identified as having additional needs.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To undertake tasks, which may include helping with some or all of the following, depending on the needs of the individuals:
Communication
Written tasks
Use of IT
Motor difficulties
Listening to instructions
Following instructions
Completing tasks
Mobility Self care/personal hygiene
Toileting Cleaning up children who have wet or soiled themselves
Social skills

Preparation of resources/materials
Supervision during intervals/lunch times
Feeding and medication (after training)
To undertake support for individuals or groups as requested by the Head Teacher, Class Teacher and/or Learning Support Teacher.
To assist in the implementation of plans, devised by the CT and or/LST or other agencies as required.
To monitor on an informal basis the progress of pupils in learning and behaviour.
To contribute to reports for pupils for discussion at review and planning meetings.
To liaise with HT, CT and/or LST and other agencies as required.

The Inclusion team are inviting applicants who are interested in working with young people to increase their school attendance and to overcome challenges with engagement in learning to apply for this role. The role will require skills such as being flexible, working well in a small team and being ready to respond to the needs of our young people. Your interpersonal qualities are key to being able to undertake this role as it will require integrity, patience, warmth and a high level of professionalism. Key aspects of the role will include supporting pupils in areas of Literacy, Numeracy and Health & Wellbeing. Having an interest in cooking and being out in nature will be an asset, as the role involves working alongside young people in the outdoors as well as baking in the kitchen. Being able to chaperone young people in the community to local work placements would also be desirable.

Essential

No formal qualifications are required, but an acceptable standard of school education is desirable.
Additional Needs Assistants will be required to undertake on the job training as and when available.
