Role Purpose

As part of our Breakfast Club provision, Trinity Primary School wish to recruit a Play, Sport and Activity Leader to help get our children more active in the mornings.

Be part of the team responsible for providing children and young people with the opportunity to socialise, play and get ready to learn.

Be part of the team responsible for making this happen, contributing directly to the improvement of both the physical and mental health of our children and young people.

Relevant experience and/or qualifications with a sport, physical activity or childcare background would be advantageous. If you can clearly demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the benefits of physical activity and sport, have experience of engaging positively with children and young people, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

1. Plan, deliver and regularly evaluate activity sessions.

2. Lead, supervise, motivate & engage participants in all activity opportunities

3. Pro-actively encourage and support all young people to take part in all activity opportunities

4. Welcome children and young people to each opportunity whilst liaising with parents and/or school staff.

5. Assisting children with toileting/changing children if necessary

6. Carry out duties in a professional and confidential manner at all times

7. Seek advice and support from Headteacher or Depute Headteacher as and when required

8. Responsibility for safety, care and welfare of groups of children during activity sessions.

9. Feedback to Headteacher/Depute Headteacher any behavioural/health/ child protection concerns as appropriate.

10. Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues within the organisation

11. Ensure that services are delivered with a customer focused ethos

12. Positively represent Scottish Borders Council internally and externally e.g. at networking events, meetings, conferences, external delivery opportunities and exhibitions to enhance and strengthen our profile.

13. Comply with, and ensure compliance with, all Scottish Borders Council policies and procedures

14. Promote equal opportunities in service delivery

15. Ensure services meet Health and Safety standards established by Scottish Borders Council
