Role Purpose

You will bring a positive, can do attitude and a commitment to delivering high quality work. Applicants should have:
- Experience in one or more relevant service areas, such as:
- Road surfacing and surface dressing
- General roads maintenance works including drainage, ditching, kerbing and concrete works
- groundworks or hard landscaping
- Temporary traffic management
- winter maintenance
- Experience in the operation of plant such as mini excavators, dumpers, tractors within a highways or construction environment.
- A good understanding of site safety and the ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Willingness to undertake additional duties to support the needs of the service.

Essential

A basic education (Numeracy and literacy)

Certified relevant machinery and plant use qualification/s (i.e. Lantra certificates, NPTC, SVQ II, CSCS, CPCS or NPORS cards or to be obtained within a reasonable period

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
