Role Purpose
We are a supportive team of people who work closely together in fulfilling our statutory duties and in doing so make a difference to children and their families in Scottish Borders. Our team comprises Social Workers and Social Work Assistants. We are a friendly and welcoming team. Our area covers the west of Scottish Borders, taking in catchment areas for Peebles, Galashiels, Selkirk and Earlston. We work closely with partner agencies and colleagues across the service and individual social workers carry varied caseloads. We are keen to support social workers to strengthen areas of professional interest and access to training is encouraged and promoted.
Essential
Professional social work qualification recognised by the SSSC eg. Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW.
Registration with Scottish Social Services Council.
Up-to-date understanding of the key issues and relevant theoretical background facing professional children and families social workers, particularly relating to child protection and looked after children.
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle with business insurance is an essential requirement of this post.
