Role Purpose

Are you passionate about digital communications and eager to make a meaningful impact across the Scottish Borders?

We are seeking two enthusiastic Digital and Media Officers to join our integrated Communications and Media team.

In this pivotal role, you will support various service areas by delivering high-quality, audience-focused internal and external communications that help shape and enhance the Council’s reputation and engagement.

The successful candidates will work with colleagues across the organisation to help develop the Council’s presence internally and externally by delivering high-quality editorial content on the Council’s digital and social media channels which includes websites, intranet and social media platforms.

You will also implement strategies for the Council’s use of social and digital media channels and support senior officers to maximise engagement and reach.

You will help improve the Council’s digital presence and user experience, ensuring content is accurate, accessible and customer focused.

You’ll also support the rollout of new features, champion best practice and measure impact.

You will be adept at efficiently and accurately producing audience-focused content, delivering key messages and effective calls to action with impact.

You will collaborate daily with colleagues across the Communications and Media service and your work will see you develop strong relationships across the Council, including Customer Advice and Support Service, Digital Innovation and Systems, Directors, Senior Managers, Elected Members and our technical support partner CGI.

You will provide advice and solutions that support business needs that are aligned to corporate policies.

The successful candidates will form part of the close-knit team supporting multi-agency Incident Response Groups as required, including out of hours, to deliver effective communications in line with our responsibilities to warn and inform when severe weather strikes or incidents occur.

 

Essential

A degree level qualification in a relevant professional discipline or equivalent experience and continuing professional development in a relevant discipline.
