Role Purpose
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to support the delivery of Tour de France activity in the Scottish Borders, showcasing the region on a global stage and maximising economic, tourism and community benefits. The Tour de France offers a unique opportunity to further establish the region as a world-class cycling destination and support long-term economic growth.
Scottish Borders Council is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to support the delivery of Tour de France activation, including fan zones, business engagement, cultural activity and community celebrations. You will work with partners and stakeholders to deliver a high-quality programme and ensure lasting legacy benefits. Alongside this, you will contribute to wider tourism, events and cycling priorities, supporting the region’s continued growth beyond the event.
This fast-paced role suits someone who thrives on delivering high-profile events and making a real impact. We are looking for someone who:
• Has strong experience in event delivery, activation or major projects
• Can support a complex programme involving multiple partners and stakeholders
• Is confident managing high-profile activity under pressure
• Has a passion for cycling, tourism and place development
• Is excited by the opportunity to deliver a once-in-a-generation global event
Essential
Educated to SCQF level 8
Qualifications in a relevant field such as Tourism, Events Management, Sustainable Transportation, Good general level of education with sound literacy and numeracy skills
Ongoing commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) within a performance management culture.
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
