Role Purpose

Scottish Borders Council is looking to appoint a permanent Finance Technician to support the provision of Treasury and Banking services to the Council. This is a part time post operating a job share arrangement for 2.5 days per week with scope to increase hours in future.

The post reports to the Statutory Reporting and Treasury Business Partner and will help to deliver a high quality service within the Finance & Procurement department.

The successful candidate will hold membership of AAT, an HNC in accounting, SVQ3 (or equivalent) or have substantial relevant experience, preferably within a large, complex organisation.

They will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, commitment to collaborative working and the ability to work logically, methodically, analytically and to tight deadlines.

We are looking for a candidate that will positively contribute to a continuous development culture where ideas and innovation is welcome. This is a very flexible role primarily working from home with only occasional travel to Council Headquarters in Newtown St Boswells required.

 

Essential
