Role Purpose

The Scottish Borders Council is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Workshop Foreman to join its Fabrication workshop team based at Newtown St Boswells.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with excellent organizational and administrative skills, strong IT proficiency, and the ability to lead a team to success.

As the Workshop Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop and ensuring the highest quality of work is produced. To succeed in this role, you must have excellent fabrication skills, the ability to work unsupervised, a vision for the future, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. In addition, you should be a qualified motor Fabricator and hold a current class c driving licence.

Essential

Fabrication and welding, IOSH working safely or similar

Ability to lead a team of fabricator welders and to show relevant experience within this field IT skills, including all MS packages and experience of fleet management software systems.
