Role Purpose

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Parks & Environment Service at Scottish Borders Council as our new Greenspace Manager. A pivotal role for the Service this post is responsible for a range of Strategic themes and initiatives including greenspace management for biodiversity, tree and woodland management, activation of open space, food growing and community stewardship and participation. We are at an exciting time in the evolution of the Service, developing our Nature Networks and the 'Clean Green Future' that Scottish Borders Council has pledged to deliver, working alongside our communities and embracing new innovation. Essential

Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (e.g. Biodiversity, Conservation, Landscape Architecture, Land Management, or similar) or evidence of comparable experience and training.

- Chartered Member of an appropriate professional institute or willing to achieve achieve within an agreed timescale
- Be able to demonstrate extensive professional development within an appropriate field.

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
