Role Purpose

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Benefits Assessor to join our Customer Advice and Support Service team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting residents across the Scottish Borders by assessing benefit entitlement and providing advice that can make a real difference to people's lives.

As a Benefits Assessor, you will assess and make decisions on a range of applications including Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Free School Meals, Clothing Grants, Council Tax discounts and exemptions. You will also provide guidance and support to customers, colleagues and partner organisations, helping people access the assistance they need.

 

Essential

At least 5 SCE Standard Grades at level 3 or above (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics or Arithmetic.
