Hours: 35 Hourly Rate: £12.56 (Scottish Local Government Living Wage) Grade: Modern Apprentice SLGLW Salary: £22921.97 per annum Contract Duration: Temporary until 31st August 2026

Recruitment Profile

In accordance with Government Guidelines, you will need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the Apprenticeship) to qualify for this position. You will undertake a Modern Apprenticeship in Business and Administration (SCVQ Level 6) with the aim of self development to improve performance and experience of duties. You will be part of a team involved in paying for the goods, services and construction works that the Council uses to carry out its functions. Accounts Payable is involved across a number of services so this role offers an exciting opportunity to learn about a number of different areas of the organisation.

Essential

Minimum requirement of 3 Standard Grades (at least general level) or equivalent National 4 or 5’s including English and Maths. In accordance with Scottish Borders Councils priorities, you will need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the Apprenticeship) to qualify for this position.
