Role Purpose
An exciting opportunity has arisen with Scottish Borders Council for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic manager to lead a small Trading Standards and Animal Health team including animal licensing, dog control and pest control. This role would suit someone who is keen to expand their leadership experience and develop further in a support environment that carries out a full range of enforcement responsibilities.
The Scottish Borders lies midway between Edinburgh and Newcastle with excellent train links from Tweedbank and Galashiels to the rest of Scotland and to the south from Berwick upon Tweed. It is ideally placed to access both Edinburgh and Newcastle airports. The area is set in beautiful rural countryside and is excellent for outdoor pursuits in particular walking and cycling.
Essential
Diploma in Trading Standards or Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards or equivalent
Evidence of Continual Professional Development
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.*
*If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
