Role Purpose

We are seeking a Temporary Property Officer to join our Property Management team to provide maternity cover. This role supports the effective management of our operational estate, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant, and well‑maintained.

 

Key responsibilities include:

coordinating maintenance activity, supporting inspections and compliance tasks, liaising with building users and contractors, and maintaining accurate property records.

 

The post will start in May 2026 to allow a period of handover.

 

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and confident working in a busy, technical environment. Experience in property or facilities management is desirable.

Essential

An HNC (Construction Related) or relevant demonstrable experience in a construction-related area. Must have a sound knowledge of the building industry and building contracts.

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
